新蛋中国,别浪费广告费

以前记录过当当和卓越浪费广告费京东有钱要省着花的例子,均是企业在进行搜索引擎推广时,因为无意或粗心,有些广告费白花了。

今天发现新蛋中国也在犯类似的错误。

前天见哥们儿刚子新买了e66,今天想起来,有兴趣做深入了解,就在google搜索“e66”,看到新蛋中国的广告“

广告文案写得很专业,我也被吸引了,点击进去,没想到进入一个搜索无结果页。

新蛋中国推广的登陆页url:

我很奇怪,新蛋中国的网站没有这个产品吗?点击搜索按钮,重新进行搜索,结果出来了,产品存在。

对比了一下url,去掉带删除线的部分就能正常访问了。

新蛋中国存在的问题是,利用google ADwords推广的产品登陆页是错误的,显然不可能产生转化,广告费就这样被浪费了。

于此同时,还发现新蛋中国推广的e71这个词,登陆页设定为网站首页,转化率肯定也很差。

两个网站被收录入DMOZ目录


最近一个月内,szmoka.cn和windygirl.cn先后被收录入DMOZ.org,写篇短文记之。
除了这两个网站之外,我还提交了googlefans.net到相应目录,但是没有被收录。

DMOZ是世界最大的人工分类目录网站,因为是人工审核编辑内容,所以想要被收录不是很容易。
个人揣测原因如下:
第一、这些编辑全是义工,不给工资,所以你不能要求他像搜索引擎的spider一样保持24小时在线工作,半年甚至一年之后才被收录,是常有的事,像上面被收录的两个网站,我已经忘记是什么时间提交的啦;
第二、除了DMOZ规定的审核标准外,编辑也会自觉不自觉使用个人的口味去判断一个网站的申请是否符合标准,所以,你不能要求他像程序算法一样公正无私;
第三、提交申请收录的网站太多,工作量大,义工编辑只能慢慢审核;
第四、对网站的审核有一个观察期,在此期间,网站应有稳定的表现,才能审核通过;

中文用户很少去在DMOZ上找网站,如果想获得流量,不如想办法花点钱加入hao123,绝对超值。
那么加入DMOZ的意义何在?
传说中原因如下:
一、能够提高网站PageRank值;
二、DMOZ的分类数据被Alexa、google等国外各大搜索引擎引用,加入DMOZ相当于同时进入了国外各大搜索引擎的网页数据库;
三、DMOZ的人工审核保证了网站的质量,所以在搜索引擎中的排名要高于没被收录的网站;

但也有人对此提出异议,冯英健有篇文章《开放式分类目录DMOZ对搜索引擎营销很重要吗?》,建议同时阅读。

相对Google的ADsense来看,定向推广的限制稍微多上一点儿。
必须是Alexa排名30万以内的网站;并且为一个网站申请的广告代码,不能投放到其它网站。

Salesforce推出Google行销工具

  【MarketWatch洛杉机8月22日讯】商务软件提供商Salesforce.com Inc. (CRM)周二推出一项新服务,使客户能够在互联网搜索领导者Google Inc.(GOOG)的AdWords上能够创建与管理搜索引擎行销活动。

  Salesforce是透过收购Kieden Corp.而获得推出这项服务所需要的技术的。Kieden Corp.是一家微型公司,该公司使用Salesforce的AppExchange平台开发出这一技术。Sales force没有透露收购的具体细节。

  总部位于旧金山的Salesforce的客户可立即在一个三十天的免费试用期内享受这一服务。Salesforce将在下半年开始向每位组织客户每月收取300美元。

如何支配你的搜索引擎市场营销经费

越来越多的公司,无论公司的规模大小,都面临 搜索引擎市场营销的概念。对于一个相对仍然很新的行业来讲,这着实是一个令人振奋的消息,但这并不意味着我们已经完成了搜索引擎市场营销的培训工作。实际上,离真正的培训还相差甚远,本周早些时候与客户交谈时,我发现,人们对不同类型的搜索引擎市场营销以及需要将市场营销的钱花在什么地方的概念还比较混乱。
Forrester研究现在预测,搜索引擎市场营销能占所有在线广告支出的39% ,到2010年,这个数有望达到44%。这意味着网络上现有1/3以上的广告都与搜索有关。对其进行进一步的细分,我们可以看到这些钱都花在了什么地方:

• 付费搜索广告 (PPC) – 51%
• PPC管理费用 – 12%
• 自然优化费用 – 11%
• 其他 – 11%
• 上下文广告 (PPC) – 10%
• 付费收录 – 6%

现在的问题是,我接触到的许多公司都把希望寄托在一种方式之上。它们要么是把所有的资金都投在PPC上,希望它能发挥巨大的作用;要么是把大量的经费投在自然搜索上,而忽略了一个好的PPC广告能产生的投资回报率。

但一家公司如何来决定经费的分配呢?在PPC和自然搜索之间,如何决定经费的分配比例是50/50、40/60 甚至80/20呢?实际上,这一切都依赖于你的行业,你跟踪投资回报率的能力,以及你的搜索引擎市场营销人员的机智。

你的投资回报率能跟踪到什么程度?

有些公司具有仔细跟踪PPC广告活动投资回报率的预先安排。那些在线销售产品的网站,或者具有清晰的客户引导的网站能较为成功地跟踪单个关键词短语的转换率和利润水平。为使他们的投资取得最高水平的回报率,他们可以对逐个短语进行竞价调整。这使PPC成为一种极具吸引力的选择。毕竟,如果一家公司知道在PPC广告上每花一块钱可以带来两块钱的收入,他们很高兴大把大把地在这种广告方式上花钱。

对于这些公司,PPC广告的成本经常比系统优化活动所投入的时间和精力要敏感得多。根据每年的时间,可以上下调整预算,如果需求超过供给,广告活动可能会减少,并且或许对许多公司更为重要的是,其结果实立竿见影的。对于高度竞争的领域,PPC绝对是公司搜索市场营销经费的最佳选择,公司的全方位战略应充分地予以体现。
另一方面,有些公司很难跟踪实际的PPC转换结果。基于服务的公司就是一个很好的例子。这些公司中的有些公司非常难以跟踪形成的购买。当然了,你可以跟踪产生的导引,但是如果你的行业中产生的电话查询比基于网络的查询表格更多一些该怎么办呢?你当然可以询问你的来电话者是从何处知道你的,但是你又如何能知道他们是使用哪个搜索引擎中的哪个关键词找到你的呢?这就造成了信息的极度不足。由此,尽管你可以衡量由PPC广告活动产生的全部导引和电话的增加,但是你仍然非常难以跟踪哪些关键词比较成功,并对其进行相应的编辑。

在那些类型的情形下,系统优化常常成为首选。尽管对于基于服务的公司仍然非常难以跟踪每个和全部目标关键词短语的实际效果,提高一个系统列表的相关的成本通常要低一些而且具有较长的作用。跟踪这些活动倾向于更粗放、更笼统一些,公司只需要看到对于当前的以及新的短语能带来一些相关业务的稳定增长即可。

另外,那些信息量大、非盈利或者在非竞争领域的网站经常难以证明购买关键词短语付费点击广告将来产生的花费,尤其是在非竞争行业的那些公司更是如此。

基于以上几个例子,很容易地就可以看出,有些公司会尽全力将钱花到付费点击广告业务上,而有些公司则会尽全力将大部分钱花在搜索引擎优化上。无论是哪种方式,公司都需要沉下心来仔细考虑他们如何来衡量某种广告活动的成功与否,他们想在某种活动上投资多久,某个行业的竞争程度到底如何?只有在认真考虑了这些问题之后,公司才能够决定他们如何支配市场营销的经费。
